We just got back from a month in the little latitudes and, except for a little pneumonia bug that hitched a ride in Erin’s lungs at the very end of the trip, it was a fantastic month! (Due to said pneumonia bug this will be a short post, but don’t worry — there will be many fabulous posts about our trip coming up!)
We began our trip with a week at Sandals Emerald Bay on Great Exuma Island in the Bahamas with Erin’s family to celebrate her parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. It was a gorgeous property and we had a fabulous week including a special vow renewal ceremony of our own on our 25th anniversary.
From the Bahamas, we traveled to sunny Punta Gorda, Florida, to meet Jeff’s family to celebrate his parents’ 50th anniversary. We enjoyed a couple of days on the beach, a couple days lounging by the pool, and a couple of days at Walt Disney World and the most magical place on Earth, the Magic Kingdom.
Our adventure then took us back to the Caribbean: two weeks in Belize and a short detour to Guatemala. We added lots of new birds to our life list, explored Maya sites, encountered deadly snakes, climbed in caves, kayaked, and swam with the fishies (and sharks!). There was lots of time relaxing with books and drinking froofy drinks, too, as it should be in the tropics!
We hope you’ve also been enjoying your weeks and your weekends so far this summer! Let us know what you’ve been up to in the comments.
I’ve been living vicariously through you two! Sorry to hear about the bug, but glad you’ve made is safely home. Looking forward to hearing about your adventure in more detail. What a great trip!
Thanks! And as we look around our house (even without teenagers here), we’re inspired by you to do a bit of organizing. The Goodwill pile continues to grow… 🙂
Happy anniversary! 🙂 Erin, take care and rest well…
Thanks, Debbie. Lots of rest!
You two have a whimsical life, and we love reading about it! Keep up the fun and good work!
