We’re at the Oregon Coast for our three day weekend, and it’s not raining!! Yet. Ahem.
We have loads of places we love to go on the Oregon Coast, and we’ve listed some below, but we thought it would be fun to do a more interactive blog post this week and get some of your ideas of Oregon Coast hotspots as well. To that end, A Week or a Weekend is having our first contest. Leave a comment with one (or more) of your favorite beach spots in Oregon and you’ll be entered in our prize drawing. Not from Oregon? OK, give us another beach hotspot. We can’t wait to get a new list of go to spots.
Here are some of our many favorites:
•Cape Lookout Tillamook Head hike
•Fort Stevens State park for camping with kiddos and history buffs
•Mo’s restaurant in Lincoln City for the bay views and, of course, the clam chowder.
•Depoe Bay to watch waves and whales – and perhaps more importantly to eat seafoam and caramel corn
•Cannon Beach for tidepooling and the view from Ecola State Park (but not the summer traffic)
•Gleneden Beach to get away from it all
•Newport marina sea lions and the aquarium (where the jellyfish photo was taken)
•Beachside State park for sites right on the ocean
•Honeyman State Park for the sand dunes (nod to the Fitzs and Williams/Kono cousins)
•Harris Beach State park for the ocean views
There are so many great spots! Start posting your faves and get in on our contest. Contest ends Wednesday. And enjoy your week or your weekend!
Oceanside…. Quiet, beautiful, tide pools, tunnel, hang gliders, Brewin in the Wind Coffee/Cafe, Roseanna’s.
Bandon. The beach just south of town is littered with ginormous rocks and caves, and the place is filled with driftwood castles that people have seemingly been building on for *years*.
Pacific City. Bob Straub Way Side Park has plenty of space and you can see Haystack Rock to the Norht and head that way if you want to see the Dory Fleet or Surfers.
